Alumbra is best described as back alley Casablanca meets New York chic. The sleek and contemporary bar is surrounded by lush, Moroccan inspired features all housed in a historic 1882 wharf shed giving Alumbra a lofty, warehouse feel.
Key design elements include intricate tribal screens suspended over the bar, filtered lighting from the shed’s exposed ceiling, a 120 year old heritage listed shiprighter’s workshop transformed into a booth, and a private mezzanine. Traditional Middle Eastern artefacts are scattered throughout the venue.
In contrast to this old-world charm, the bathrooms are ultra modern and give new meaning to the word unisex, as the only thing that separates the cubicles from the rest of the bar is a floor to ceiling wall of glass - a talking point that will ensure your function is not forgotten!
