About Jazz Oasis
The Jazz Oasis features jazz seven nights a week "if they show up," a patron explained at midnight on a recent Friday night, as we sat at the round bar inside the traumatically red lounge. A full complement of instruments sat untouched on the stage -- instruments that are apparently there all the time for whatever band is playing that night. The Jazz Oasis is unique for reasons beyond the motley assortment of locals that frequent it. Its donut-shaped bar is one of a kind, and it's the only bar in the city that purports to have live jazz every night (even if they can't always get the band together). Plus, it may be the most scarlet-red room around.
