About Tanqueray's Bar and Grille
The discreet location of this downtown Orlando bar is in keeping with it's down-low, mellow vibe -- you access Tanqueray's by descending a stairwell tucked away on the corner of Orange Avenue and Pine Street. The interior is expansive, and it's easy to imagine that the windowless room once housed a bank vault. The feel, however, is purely cozy, with something Cheers-esque about the ambiance.

Gone are the days when Tanqueray's served food -- the focus now is squarely on the beverages, and the bartenders are known for serving up some of the strongest drinks in town. If you're under 30, you might feel out of place, as the crowd tends to be older, professional types seeking a respite from the chaos of nearby Church Street. It's an ideal spot for conversation and cocktails. Live blues and classic rock bands perform on Friday and Saturday nights. -- Terry Ward
