With two levels, three bars, a huge projection TV, three smaller TVs, a dance floor, friendly bartenders, great two-for-one-specials and no cover charge, the Fire Station is one of the hottest bars on Ottawa's hip-strip, Elgin street. Packed with party-people, bar-crawlers, dancing-fools and thrill-seekers, the places closes during the week to allow the staff to prepare for the totally insane Thursday, Friday and Saturday haul.

The dress is usually a step up from casual (though there is no code), ranging from club wear to cool-clothes, jeans and sweater to barely-there tank tops and shorts. Half meat-market, half night club, the plentiful waiters circulate like sharks, ready to take your order, or the ever-busy bartenders will give you a top up - a quick alternative when it's busy. Line-ups are guaranteed so unless you know the bouncers, get there early or be prepared to wait.
