About Senso
Terence Conran’s latest contribution to the Parisian restaurant-bar scene following the success of Alcazar, and needless to say it’s already a hit with fashionistas, foodies, media types and cocktail connoisseurs. In a move away from his usual minimalist coldness, the décor is warm and bold. Split into a bar, lounge and restaurant space, the latter is a street-front wood-panelled room with steel framed tables where moneyed metropolitans order delights like duck filet in spiced wine sauce and don’t bother to look at the bill. The lounge, softly lit with parchment table lamps and furnished with ivory leather sofas and armchairs draws the beautiful crowd, a number of Murano chandeliers adding an elegant royal glow. Meanwhile gorgeous girls in skimpy black designer dresses take to the main bar, where classic and modern cocktails compete with spectacular design. The ceiling is fitted with a rectangular lamp that subtly changes colour from blue to red. Those who want the ultimate in privacy can even go behind a glass screen in a secluded seating area. The Venetian wall mirrors and red and grey banquettes are perfect for dangerous liaisons. Senso: one for the senses.
