About California Musical Theater
Fifty years ago, the idea of musicals performed in a tent was born. Among the then-unknowns who performed in Sacramento on their way to stardom were Madeline Kahn, who graced the 1969 production of Show Boat, and Joel Grey, who played Huck Finn in Tom Sawyer. Over the years, more than 150 musicals have graced the round Music Circus tent. The season runs from July 19-August 26. Shows sell-out quickly, so it is best to call early for tickets.
