A cross between an upscale hotel bar and a super-sized modern lounge, this out-of-the-way drinking den is a study in orange reflected against dark woods. The only light comes from cylindrical sconces, small lamps and sleek panels, setting the space aglow in amber hues. The room's long bar comfortably accommodates five-deep weekend crowds without disturbing insta-couples cuddling at adjacent raised tables. A platform DJ booth is stationed above more curved banquettes in the back. Fashionable table servers sync steps with a clubby soundtrack of '70s disco grooves and obscure Clash songs.

In a neighborhood long thirsting for nightlife options, locals gather naturally. Outsiders have been slower to migrate, but word-of-mouth and the club's egalitarian door philosophy gives reason for making the trip.
